Open home follow-up texts: 12 templates that get replies

The best time to follow up a buyer is the same afternoon, while the home is still fresh in their mind. These short texts are written to be sent from your phone, sound like you and get a reply.

Four rules for follow-up texts

  • Send it the same day. Within a couple of hours of the open home is ideal.
  • Use their first name and the address. Buyers often see several homes on a Saturday.
  • Ask one easy question. A question gets a reply. A statement gets read and forgotten.
  • Say who you are. Your name and agency, every time. For marketing messages, include a way to opt out.
